Israel’s military confirmed late Tuesday afternoon that Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi, commander of the rocket and mission division of Lebanon’s Hezbollah terrorist army, was killed in a surgical airstrike carried out in the Dahieh suburb of southern Beirut.

“Under the guidance of the Intelligence Division, Air Force fighter jets attacked in Dahieh in Beirut and killed Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi, the commander of the missile and rocket array of the Hezbollah terrorist organization,” the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit announced.

“During the attack, there were other central commanders with Qabisi in Hezbollah’s missile and rocket division.”

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, six were killed in the attack, with another 15 wounded.

Qabisi commanded several missile units within the Hezbollah terrorist organization, including the Precision Guided Missile Unit.

“Over the years and during the war, he was responsible for launching missiles toward the Israeli civilians. Qabisi was a significant source of knowledge in the field of missiles and had close ties to senior military leaders in Hezbollah,” the IDF noted.

Qabisi joined Hezbollah in the 1980s, and since then held a series of key military positions in the organization, including as a senior officer in Hezbollah’s Operations Unit in southern Lebanon, and commanding the ‘Badr’ unit on the Southern Front.

As part of his duties in the terrorist organization, he was responsible for the planning and execution of many terrorist plots against the IDF forces and the citizens of the State of Israel, the IDF added.

Qabisi planned the abduction terror attack in Mount Dov in the 2000s, in which IDF Staff Sergeant Benyamin (Benny) Avraham, Staff Sergeant Adi Avitan and Staff Sergeant Omar Sawaid were abducted and killed. They were brought back to Israel for burial in 2004.
