SIBU (Oct 20): The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Community Development team yesterday conducted mobile services to help individuals apply for the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) and the Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB).

Its chairman Councillor Kevin Lau commended the two welfare programmes introduced by the government for senior citizens aged 60 and above in recent years.

He said these programmes show that the Sarawak government provides care for the people.

“KGC holders can use their gold card to make purchases at any corporate partners and enjoy special discounts,” he said in a statement.

“As for SCBH, a medical aid of RM500 will be provided to senior citizens who meet the application requirements. The aid will not be given directly in cash, but will be deducted from the account during medical visits.

“Senior citizens who apply for approval can use the aid at designated medical places. It is also understood that the number of relevant medical places will increase,” he stated.

Those who have applied for SCHB can go to https://sarawak.gov.my/web/home/p_service_catalogue/741 and enter their ID number to check their status.
