Brit pensioner, 83, 'sexually assaults young girl' at Majorca church service

A pensioner is being investigated over claims he molested a 13-year-old girl during a church mass in Majorca.

The teenage girl claimed the 83-year-old expat touched her bottom and her back several times as they queued to receive communion during the service in the municipality of Alcudia.

She also accused the unnamed pensioner of unwanted touching as she had her hands resting on a disabled woman’s wheelchair in the church.

Local police were alerted by the girl’s parents who claim she was crying when she returned from taking communion and officers ended up tracking down and identifying the pensioner around 15 minutes later at a nearby market.

The British man, thought to be from Glasgow, was ordered to attend his nearest Civil Guard station hours later for a police quiz.
He declined to answer questions and is now waiting for a court summons after investigators passed a report on to a judge who has been tasked with looking into the young girl’s allegations.

He is being represented by a law firm called Raso & Asociados in the island capital Palma. His son has already given evidence on his father’s behalf, saying he was in the church the same day and saw nothing untoward. The Civil Guard in Majorca has yet to make any official comment.
