A 'broken' father who was stopped from meeting his baby daughter until her second birthday has opened up about his agony upon hearing his kids call another man 'daddy'.

Kyle Fitton, 28, says he waited an agonising 15 months to see his baby girl for the first time after his "spiteful" ex-girlfriend falsefied a DNA test and lied on a birth certificate to block his access.

Scheming Georgina Saville, 25, tried to de-rail Kyle's legal bid to get access to his children by claiming the baby's biological dad was her new boyfriend, Danny Mellows. A nasty legal battle followed, leaving Kyle 'broken into pieces'.

The calculated mum admitted to faking the results by editing a photo of a DNA test she found online, and was found guilty this week after a four-day trial at Southampton Crown Court, Hants. A judge warned her she could now face jail after being convicted of perverting the course of public justice and a rare charge of wilfully making a false declaration as to a birth.

Saville - who already had a daughter with Kyle - claimed their newborn was not his in March 2022, before presenting a fake DNA test and incorrectly filling out a birth certificate which both named Mellows as the baby's father.

When asked by Fitton's solicitors to take a DNA test, Saville sent them bogus results trying to prove the newborn baby was actually the daughter of her new boyfriend. Having originally left the father section of the birth certificate blank, she went to the Registry Office and added Mellows as the official dad - despite previously admitting her two girls were 'full blood sisters'.

The trial heard after sending photos of herself with the girls and her new boyfriend, Saville had started getting their eldest to call her new boyfriend Mellows 'daddy'. Opening up for the first time on how this made him feel, Kyle said: "It broke me to pieces and that's when I really started to shut down from friends and family. I would come home and I wouldn't even talk to mum. I would just have a shower and go straight to bed and try and settle myself."

However, this often wouldn't work and Kyle said he suffered many sleepless nights, staying up past 3am. "It genuinely broke me. This is something no man or woman should ever have to go through."

Now, after lengthy family and criminal court proceedings have concluded, Kyle's children are now under the legal guardianship of his mother - meaning he gets to see them every day, something he cherishes. But despite the "amazing" relief of finally being reunited with his daughters, the heartbreaking experience is still impacting his work as a mechanic. "It's still in the back of my mind, I can't get rid of it," he added.

He said while his two daughters' bond was now blossoming, the heart-aching 15 month wait to meet his baby was unbearable. "The bond between them now is ecstatic," he continued. "[The newborn] had never met me, it took some time to bond that relationship. But now it's amazing. We were finally united before her second birthday."

However, he remains positive for the future and detailed his now 'amazing' daily routine which involves both of his children. "I'm around mum's every night, I'm there at the weekend - it's every day," he said. "I took [the eldest] to her first day of school, it was just amazing.

"It's the best part of my day, knowing I finish work I get to go home and see my daughters. Walking into mum's and they both shout 'daddy'. It's just a sense of relief they are there, they are happy and they are safe."
