A quick-thinking schoolboy rescued his sister after she became unconscious using a waterslide during a family holiday.

Hari Gray, 12, turned his sister Eden, 10, over after she flew through the air and ended up unconscious and upside down in the water during a family holiday to Antalya, Turkey. Their mum Kelly, 40, said she was "very proud" of her son after he saved Eden's life.

She added Hari never had any first aid training. Kelly said: "I don't know how he knew to do it. He just turned around, went over to her and rolled her over.

"He was as calm as anything. I'm very proud, we are very proud of him for this." The family were coming to the end of their 10-day-stay at the Grand Kapten Hotel Alanya when the horror incident happened.

Hari Gray, Eden Gray, and Enya Grayit (L-R) were enjoying a holiday in Turkey when the accident happened

Mum-of-three Kelly, from Broughton, Cumbria, said she watched Eden become unconscious after she went down into the water but just "froze". She added: "I watched it happen but I just froze. She flew up in the air and knocked herself out.

"She's unconscious and upside down the water. Hari had come down the slide just before her. I was stood at the side shouting to turn her over. Hari went over, turned her over and brought her back up."

Eden was taken to a nearby hospital by her mum and scans were taken of her head. Fortunately, Eden was given the all-clear and left just a few hours later.

But ever-cautious Hari packed his sister a bag to take with her, just in case she needed to stay the night. Kelly said: "We were going home the next day.

"They rushed her to hospital and she had scans on her head. We weren't sure if she'd be ok to fly back. But Hari had packed her up a bag, he was great. Luckily, they let her leave a few hours later."
