Amanda Owen and her former spouse Clive have turned a new leaf since their days on Our Yorkshire Farm by tackling a fresh challenge in home renovation; this new phase is captured in the upcoming show dubbed Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids. It will showcase the Owens as they breathe life into an old farmhouse.

The once-married duo have joined forces again, aiming to restore an 1800s farmhouse close to Ravenseat Farm for their large brood of nine. Amanda took ownership of the property called Anty John's in March 2020, with dreams of passing it on to their offspring.

Discussing some unique benefits of the purchase, Amanda told OK!: "I feel blessed to have been able to buy it as it was such an amazing opportunity to buy another farm that had plenty of land 30 acres and common grazing rights, which is quite unusual nowadays."

The building's historic character and neglected condition meant the project was far from straightforward, reports Yorkshire Live.

Absent foundations or roof, and with obsolete planning permission, posed significant challenges. Amanda recounted: "A lot had changed since the original application was put through. Things like an old 1970s-style avocado bathroom."

She went on to describe the daunting task ahead: "So, there was a lot of paperwork to do before we could even get started. It was stressful and there were times where you'd stand among the rubble thinking, 'OMG, where do I even start? ' It was overwhelming."

Now, after a year of hard graft, Amanda and Clive have triumphantly erected a roof and are setting their sights on putting in windows next.

Amanda has admitted that the project is a tad behind schedule, confessing her wish to have been able to "light a fire in a room this Christmas".

The vision for the Grade II listed building is to transform it into a cosy two-bedroom abode complete with a living room, kitchen, shower room, and utility space.

As reported by The Yorkshire Post, the old farmhouse hasn't seen use in some 60 years.

Over on Instagram, Amanda's lad Reuben has been showcasing his contribution to the renovation efforts, posting a series of snaps.

In one post featuring a tractor and digger, he captioned: "Setting up ready to make a start at Anty Johns. #tryingnottomakeamess".
