A woman discovered a "secret tunnel" close to Benidorm, and couldn't believe what she found on the other side after she explored it.

Lucy, also known as the Benidorm Enthusiast, took to the Benidorm Stuff channel on YouTube to share footage of her daring escapade down the tunnel. Lucy said she'd "heard about this creepy tunnel that's tucked into the mountain side" and had "no idea where it goes, how long it is, if it even leads anywhere, or if there's anything living down there".

Lucy had seen the tunnel before from a boat out at sea, and had always wondered what it was and where it led. She also explained how she didn't want to give away the exact location, as she didn't want to "encourage anyone to come down and get stuck".

The entrance to the "spooky, secret tunnel" was obscured by some bushes, meaning Lucy had to fight her way in to get access. The entrance itself was extremely narrow and had graffiti around the outside. As she stepped inside, Lucy jokingly asked: "Who's idea was this?!"

Once inside, she was met with two ways to turn. She decided to go down the route that had a "bit of light at the end" and cracked on, navigating a soggy, muddy floor and dodging "little holes where bats live".

Lucy explained how the tunnel got smaller and wetter as she ventured down it, describing the smell down there as "damp", but thankfully it started to "open up" towards the end. And what she found when she got there left her stunned.

"Wooooow, look at that," she exclaimed as she stepped out, revealing an insane view of the Mediterranean Sea from the bottom of some cliffs. "I'm absolutely over the moon that we've done that," she said, "because look at that view! That is absolutely stunning. When you come out of that tunnel, wow, that literally takes your breath away."

Commenting on the video, one person said: "What a view, if I went down there I'd never get back up again so a big THANK YOU." Another said: "Fantastic adventure, really enjoyed this vlog and the view at the end of the tunnel was stunning!"
