Mum told she's been using clothes pegs wrong 'her whole life' sparking fierce debate

A mum has sparked a fierce debate after revealing she's been using clothes pegs 'wrong' her whole life - and some people say they 'hate' her method of hanging washing

A mum has accidentally ignited a fiery debate on the 'proper' way to use clothes pegs after questioning her lifelong laundry technique.

She revealed that she always draped clothes and towels over the line, securing the two sides together with pegs, rather than clipping them at the top. Sharing a photo of her method, she posted: "I think this is the right way to use clothes pegs, not putting them on the top. I have been doing it wrong my whole life. What do you think?"

The post, shared in the Mums Who Cook, Clean and Organise Facebook group, drew intense reactions, with some calling the idea "hated" and "insane". Dive into the debate and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Critics were quick to respond, with one saying: "Obviously don't live in my area in summer. The easterly winds would blow them off in a second. Pegs were invented to go over the line not like the above picture." Another commented: "Can't say I've ever thought of doing it like that. I like to have as much towel hanging down as possible so they dry quicker rather than being doubled up like that."

Meanwhile, another mum suggested a space-saving tip reported by News.com. au, advising to spread laundry across two lines instead of one. She recommended: "A brilliant hack to help accommodate super-sized laundry loads is to hang items across rather than along the line."

Yet some rallied behind the mum's unique laundry technique, with one supporter posting: "As long as your washing does not blow over the fence who cares how you peg your washing. Do it your way." Another chimed in: "You do you, if it works then keep doing it that way."
