The Greater Manchester council bucking the trend with three bonfire night displays

by · Manchester Evening News

The people of Rochdale will be getting three organised firework events from their council next month.

The local authority is bucking the trend of councils opting out of running bonfire night events with three separate ones across Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton. Just as last year, Bowlee Community Park, Queens Park Road and Cronkeyshaw Common will all be dazzled by pyrotechnics once again.

Each event involves a family funfair and will have food and soft drinks available on the night. No alcohol will be sold and attendees aren’t allowed to bring their own alcohol, fireworks, or sparklers.

No booking is required for any of the events and they are all free to enter. Those planning to head to one of the organised displays have been urged by the council to walk or use public transport if possible due to limited parking availability.

Here is the details for each event planned for the borough…

The event, which was staged for the first time in 2023, will again be transforming the gardens opposite Rochdale Town Hall. It has even been extended from two nights to three - with more dazzling displays and activities for all the family.

The event is opening from Friday, November 22 to Sunday, November 24 with three no-cost, night-time spectacular shows delivering a magical trail of fire and lights.
