The search for a Port Alberni woman who was last seen in Peachland has yet to yield any answers.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue crews were set up and looking for signs of Stephanie Woodcock at Antler’s Beach in Peachland on Thursday night, COSAR representative Michael Day said.

“We searched the beach and off the shore, the public trails and canvassed neighbourhoods for information,” Day said.

He says whatever information they found has been passed on to the RCMP.

Woodcock’s mother, Donna, has yet to get the news she's been waiting for, but she's hopeful her daughter is still out there and is just unaware of the search that’s carrying on.

“I’m holding a vision of her coming home safely," Donna said, adding some tips have come in and have brought her comfort.

Stephanie's family has not heard from her since Sept. 1, though it’s not the first time her daughter has lost contact with the family for a short period of time. She has also spent much of the summer camping, without much in the way of technology.

Donna said her phone broke months ago and she lost her iPad, which RCMP have since found.

RCMP said earlier in the week that Woodcock had outfitted her vehicle so she could live in it. The vehicle is described as a grey 2009 GMC Yukon. A vehicle matching that description was spotted at Antler Beach on Sept. 3, where a woman matching her description was also observed by police nearby.

"She was a free spirit, who would go where she was guided,” Donna said. "She loves helping people, she’s a sweet soul, with a beautiful heart looking to help everyone she can."

Cpl. Michael Gauthier of the Kelowna RCMP said Stephanie’s vehicle has been reported abandoned and was impounded from the Antler Beach area, however, police nor family have had any further contact with Stephanie.

Woodcock is blue-eyed, and has light brown and blonde curly hair, possibly shaved on the sides. She wears nose rings, is five-foot-eight and is often seen with an acoustic guitar.

"Anyone who may have seen Stephanie recently or knows of her current whereabouts is asked to phone the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880," Cpl. Gauthier said.
