Maharashtra Election 2024: MVA, Mahayuti's Final Seat-Sharing Scenario Emerges As Nomination Filing Ends Today

Maharashtra Election 2024: With the nomination for the Maharashtra Assembly elections on its final day, the seat-sharing arrangements of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the Mahayuti coalition have also emerged. The MVA has announced candidates for all 288 seats.
Maharashtra Election 2024: MVA's Seat Allocation Strategy
The MVA comprises the Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Samajwadi Party (SP), and Congress. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has already released three lists of candidates: 65 in the first list, 15 in the second, four in the third, and 12 more totalling 96 candidates. In comparison, the Congress has confirmed candidates for 102 seats, distributed across five lists: 48 in the first, 23 in the second, 16 in the third, 12 in the fourth, and three in the fifth. The NCP-SP alliance has announced a total of 91 candidates, with their releases comprising 45 in the first list, 22 in the second, nine in the third, six in the fourth, four in the fifth, and five in the sixth. The SP has been allocated two seats.
Maharashtra Election 2024: Mahayuti's Seat Allocation
The Mahayuti, spearheaded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has also announced its candidate lists. The BJP has announced candidates for a total of 148 seats across four lists: 99 in the first, 22 in the second, 25 in the third, and two in the fourth. The Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena has disclosed candidates for 80 seats, including 45 in the first list, 20 in the second, 13 in the third, and two more names. Ajit Pawar's NCP has declared candidates for 53 seats, while the NDA's other allies have been allocated six seats on the BJP symbol.
Today is the last day to file nomination papers for the Maharashtra Election 2024. The deadline to withdraw nominations is November 4. Polling in Maharashtra will take place on November 20, while results will be declared on November 23.
