Ghana’s 2024 Election: MP Chides Nine-Day-Wonder Campaign Promises

by · News Ghana

The member of Parliament for Juaboso, Hon Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, said he would continue working toward the economic and infrastructural transformation of Africa, a farming community in Juaboso Constituency, instead of waiting till election day before making unrealistic campaign promises to the people.

He said most politicians bait their constituents with last-minute election campaign promises, knowing such utterances were just for vote canvassing. He said such politicians would neglect their electorates only to show up in the lead-up to parliamentary and presidential elections to deceive the people.

He continued that the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government started some infrastructural projects, but the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government failed to complete them.

Hon Kwabena Mintah Akandoh informed the people that the next John Dramani Mahama-led NDC government would complete all abandoned projects, including extending electricity to Africa and constructing a marketplace for the people in 2025.

Hon Kwabena Mintah Akandoh said this when he commissioned a Community-based Health Planning and Services ( CHPS) compound he built for the African community.

CHPS compounds are part of a program in Ghana that aims to improve primary health care. These compounds are simple facilities that include a service delivery point and accommodation for health personnel. They are used to enhance community health services and care.

The District Health Director for Juaboso, Dr. Deborah Mensah, advised the nurses and midwives who will work in the facility to be professional.
