A Scots Evri driver's car was stolen while she was working a shift sparking a Police investigation.

The incident took place in Edinburgh on Wednesday, October 30. Beth McFarlane has told how she was delivering parcels on Liberton Road.

And the 25-year-old said that a balaclava-clad thief stole her car while she was at the door of a property at around 2pm, leaving her "shaken up".

Beth said she heard the engine of her Vauxhall Corsa start but that was too hard for her to make out who it was stealing the vehicle due to having his face covered.

And Beth, of Penicuik, says it has made her question her safety as a delivery driver. She told Edinburgh Live: "I had just started my shift of 80 parcels and had only delivered one parcel prior to the robbery.

"I had buzzed a flat at Braidburn Court and while I was waiting for a reply, I heard my engine start and my car drove off. I got a look at the driver who was a young man but he was wearing a balaclava so I can't give much of a description.

"The registration plates have likely been changed so we are looking for any unregistered red Corsas or any of the packages from my car being dumped somewhere."

The University of Edinburgh student has been an Evri driver for over and says she is going to make a few changes to "keep herself safe".

She continued: "I have been quite shaken up by the situation as I just never thought something like this would happen to me. It's definitely made me question my safety and going forward I am going to make quite a few changes to try and keep myself safe.

"As a student I am definitely worried about the financial effects of this and just hoping the car is found soon." Police Scotland have confirmed inquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson said: "Around 2.15pm on Wednesday, 30 October, 2024, we received a report of the theft of a car on Liberton Road, Edinburgh. Enquiries are ongoing."
