A police search is underway for a missing dad and his six-month-old baby son.

Adam Skindzier, 44, and newborn boy Nathan were last seen near their home in Netherton, Merseyside, on Friday at around 4pm. It is understood Adam could be driving a black Mercedes.

Merseyside Constabulary have launched an urgent appeal for information to assist in finding the father and his son.

Adam, who is of Polish descent, is described as being white, of large build, about 6ft 1in tall, with short brown greying hair, blue eyes, and has a Polish accent.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate Adam and Nathan. Police officers are making extensive efforts to find Adam and his child and return them home safely and would urge Adam, or anyone who knows where he is, to call police on the 101 number quoting log 342 of 4 October."

Their disappearance comes amid a major search for missing mum Victoria Taylor who was last seen on CCTV footage taken at a BP garage in Malton, North Yorkshire. The 34-year-old was captured there, buying a soft drink, dressed in an Adidas puffer jacket and a camouflage print cap.

On Thursday, police divers continued to scour the River Dewent after it emerged that some of Victoria's belongings were found close to the river bank. North Yorkshire Police say a range of enquiries are ongoing to try and locate Victoria, with the focus of activity being in the Malton/Norton area.

"We are very concerned about Victoria's whereabouts and, like her family and friends, just want to see her safe and well," Inspector Martin Dennison said. Locals and relatives have since spoken out about the 'popular' mum-of-one, who is described as being white and approximately 5ft six inches tall.
