Man in hospital with head injury after incident at Stapleford bar

Police were called to a bar in Stapleford in the early hours of Saturday morning (November 9) following reports that a man had been assaulted and suffered a head injury. Officers went attended a bar in Derby Road just after 1am and discovered the victim in his 40s, with a head injury, and who was taken to hospital where he remains.

Nottinghamshire Live understands a cordon was in place at Larry's bar this morning. But the venue, which usually opens at 9am on a Saturday morning, was back serving customers again by 12.30pm this afternoon.

A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody. Detective Sergeant Dave Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We’re carrying out inquiries into what happened in the early hours of this morning and would like to ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time to get in touch with us.”
