Man arrested for assaulting Muslim vegetable vendor in Jaipur

According to the police, the man, Anshul Dadhich, assaulted a Muslim vegetable vendor, Shahroz, in Brahmpuri region in Jaipur. He uploaded a video of the incident on social media, where he can be seen abusing Shahroz and telling him to prove that he was an Indian.

A man was arrested in Jaipur on Saturday for uploading a video of him assaulting a Muslim vegetable vendor.

According to the police, the man, Anshul Dadhich, assaulted a Muslim vegetable vendor, Shahroz, in Brahmpuri region in Jaipur.

He uploaded a video of the incident on social media, where he can be seen abusing Shahroz and telling him to prove that he was an Indian. The accused even called him a Bangladeshi as well and assaulted Shahroz, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Police said that Anshul was arrested from his house after he posted the video on social media. The police also arrested Himmat Singh, the man who was allegedly making the video.

After his arrest, Anshul can be seen saying in a video shared by the police that he assaulted Shahroz as he was "sleep-deprived".

Police said that his social media profile showed that Anshul regularly posted extremist content on social media.

The accused had climbed on the water tank last year, demanding that the country be declared a Hindu Rashtra, following which the police had brought him down and a case was registered against him.
