Several rounds of gunshots were fired outside a car showroom in west Delhi's Naraina area on Friday evening by some unknown miscreants, police said.

According to police, the attackers fired over 20 rounds of gunshots and left behind a note demanding extortion, signed by the infamous 'Bhau Gang'. No one was injured in the firing, officials said.

Police and special forces rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the firing. Preliminary investigation suggested that the shooters were linked to Himanshu Bhau, a wanted gangster currently believed to be operating from Portugal.

While the exact amount of extortion demanded hasn't been confirmed, sources indicate it could be as high as Rs 5 crore.

The incident occurred at the 'Car Street' showroom, located on Naraina Road, just a short distance from Naraina Police Station. The gunfire led to panic in the area, prompting the arrival of not only local police but also teams from the Special Cell and Crime Branch.

Officials have sealed the area and were inspecting the scene of the crime.

Today's firing bears similarities to an earlier incident a few months ago, where a car showroom in Tilak Nagar faced a similar assault, also linked to the Bhau gang.

Two gunmen opened fire on a car showroom in Tilak Nagar on May 6, injuring seven people. The victims suffered injuries from shattered glass as bullets struck the doors and windows of the showroom.

Following the assault, the attackers left behind a handwritten note listing the names of three notorious gangsters: Himanshu Bhau, Neeraj Faridkot, and Naveen Bali.

The showroom owner received a call from an international number demanding Rs 5 crore as "protection money", according to police reports.
