Man arrested for molesting woman on Chennai-bound IndiGo flight

A 45-year-old man was arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a woman passenger while aboard a Chennai-bound IndiGo flight.

The Chennai Police arrested a 45-year-old man on charges of inappropriately touching a woman passenger aboard a Jaipur-Delhi-Chennai IndiGo flight.

The incident occurred on October 9 when both the accused, Rakesh Sharma, and the woman were returning to Chennai from Jaipur.

A Chennai police official told India Today that the woman was seated in a window seat inside the flight. Sharma, who was sitting behind her, allegedly touched her inappropriately.

The woman complained to the cabin crew about the man's behaviour. When the flight landed in Chennai, the man was arrested based on the woman's police complaint.

Sharma is employed with a tile company and had travelled to Jaipur for work-related purposes, the police official said.

IndiGo is yet to issue a statement regarding the incident.
