NEET UG Counselling 2024: Round 1, 2 candidates allowed to resign seats

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a notice for candidates who wish to resign from their allocated seats in Round 1 and Round 2 of the NEET UG 2024 counselling. As per the notice, candidates have until October 1, 2024, to complete the resignation process.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice for candidates involved in the NEET UG 2024 counselling process. The notice states that candidates wishing to resign from their allotted seats in either Round 1 or Round 2 may do so until October 1, 2024. This decision comes in response to numerous requests from candidates.

"It is for the information of all candidates that requests are being received from UG candidates who want to resign their Round-1 or Round-2 seats due to various reasons. In this regard, the competent authority has decided to allow resignation for such candidates. The candidates who desire to leave their Round-1 or Round-2 seat can do so up to 5 PM of 01.10.2024," reads the official notice.

NEET UG COUNSELLING 2024: INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

Here are the instructions for candidates regarding seat resignation as issued by the MCC:

1. Round 1 Candidates (Not Upgraded in Round 2): If you were not upgraded in Round 2, you may resign from your seat without losing your security deposit, provided you do so within the specified resignation period.
2. Freshly Allotted Candidates in Round 2: If you have been newly allotted a seat in Round 2, joined it, and now wish to resign, you can do so. However, your security deposit will be forfeited if you resign within the deadline.
3. Upgraded Candidates in Round 2: If you were upgraded to a new seat in Round 2, joined it, and now want to resign, you may vacate the seat. However, the security deposit will be forfeited.
4. Resignation Process: To resign from your seat, you must report in person to the allotted college. Ensure that the college generates your resignation letter online through the MCC-provided portal. Failure to do so will result in your resignation being considered 'Null & Void'.
