The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued new guidelines for candidates applying for JEE Main 2025, particularly addressing issues related to Aadhaar Card name mismatches. The application process for the first session of JEE Main 2025 is ongoing and will remain open until November 22, 2024.
These guidelines respond to technical difficulties faced by candidates due to discrepancies between the names on their Aadhaar Card and Class 10 certificates.
To streamline the application process, NTA has introduced updates to the online form, making it easier for applicants to proceed despite minor inconsistencies in their names.
Candidates who encounter a pop-up error after selecting ‘Confirm Name as per Aadhaar’ should close the pop-up and continue with the authentication process by entering their Aadhaar Card name exactly as it appears. This step captures both names from the Aadhaar and the educational certificate, allowing the application to proceed smoothly.
This year, JEE Main will be conducted in two phases, with the first session scheduled from January 22 to 31, 2025, and the second in April. Notably, the maximum number of attempts for JEE Advanced has been increased from two to three, allowing candidates three consecutive years to qualify for the exam.
