A video of people pausing their Navratri celebrations to pay tribute to the late Ratan Tata, who died late Wednesday night, has gone viral on social media.

During a garba night in Mumbai's NESCO compound, hundreds of people switched off the music, observed a moment of silence, and illuminated the night with their phone flashlights as a mark of tribute.

A participant in the event, who goes by the name Fenil Kothari on X, shared a video of the tribute. It showed the poignant moment when the crowd came together in silence for the national icon.

“The highlight of this Garba night was paying tribute to the Esteemed Ratan Tata Sir on his passing, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Navratri. We sincerely hope his soul finds peace, especially on such a sacred day Sir, you will forever be remembered,” the caption of the post reads.

As news of Tata’s death spread, tributes poured in from across the country, both online and in person. By Thursday morning, crowds had gathered outside his residence in Colaba, Mumbai, eager to pay their respects. His body, carried in a hearse adorned with white flowers, was transported to the NCPA, where it lay in state for mourners.
