Punjab Cabinet reshuffle likely, 5 new ministers to be inducted, say sources

If the reshuffle takes place, the new inductees will be sworn-in as ministers into the Bhagwant Mann Cabinet at the Raj Bhavan on Monday, according to sources.

The Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab on Sunday decided to perform a major reshuffle, inducting five new ministers into the state Cabinet, while also deciding to dismiss four ministers, sources said.

The new inductees are scheduled to be sworn-in as ministers into the Bhagwant Mann Cabinet at the Raj Bhavan on Monday, according to sources.

Barinder Kumar Goyal, Dr Ravijot, Taranpreet Singh Saund, Mahinder Bhagat and Hardeep Singh Mundia will be inducted into the Punjab Cabinet, while Chetan Singh Jodamajra, Brah Shankar Jimpa, Balkar Singh and Anmol Gagan Mann are all set to step down as ministers.

The reports of the likely reshuffle in Punjab come just days after Aam Aadmi Party's government in Delhi saw change of ministers as Atishi took oath as the new Chief Minister after Arvind Kejriwal's resignation.

The move comes ahead of the Assembly by-elections and Panchayat polls in Punjab.

However, there was no official confirmation on the Cabinet rejig in AAP's Mann government in the state.

Currently, there are 15 ministers in Bhagwant Mann's Cabinet, including the chief minister. There can be a maximum of 18 ministers in the Cabinet.
