  • Students must arrive by 9 am to avoid disqualification for late arrival

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has rescheduled the HSSC or Class 12 board examinations for 2025. The Goa board class 12 exams, originally slated to begin on February 1, 2025, will now commence on February 10, 2025.

This change has been made to accommodate students appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2025, which is expected to take place in the last week of January. The official notice regarding the revised schedule was issued by the board. As per the revised schedule, the exams will be held from February 10 to February 24, 2025.

In the official notice, the board stated that the decision to reschedule the examinations was made in response to requests from various Higher Secondary Schools, parents, and local representatives. They expressed concerns about the insufficient preparation time available for students before the board examinations.

"The Board has carefully considered these concerns, recognising that JEE 2025 is expected to conclude by the end of January, leaving insufficient time for students to adequately prepare for their Board exams," reads the official notice.

The board emphasised that the rescheduled date would provide JEE aspirants with sufficient time to concentrate on both their entrance and board examinations. Additionally, GBSHSE has instructed all schools to prominently display the circular on their notice boards.

Furthermore, the board has made it clear that examinations will not be postponed under any circumstances, including during public holidays.

EXAM TIMINGS

The examinations will be held for three hours, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, for the majority of papers. For select exams, the duration will be two hours (from 9:30 am to 11:30 am) or one and a half hours (from 9:30 am to 11:00 am).

Candidates are required to arrive at the examination halls by 9 am, as late arrivals after the exam has started will lead to disqualification.
