Air Force Day, celebrated on October 8 at Tambaram Air Force Station, will highlight the theme “Bharatiya Vayusena: Saksham, Sashakt aur Aatmnirbhar” (Indian Air Force: Potent, Strong, and Self-reliant). A grand flypast featuring 72 aircraft from 22 categories will be the centrepiece of the celebration.

The flypast at Marina Beach will include fighter jets like the Su-30, MiG-29, and Jaguars, along with helicopters such as the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mk4. The Navy's P8I and the vintage Dakota will also attend, adding a unique touch to the event.

Spectators, expected to number between 10 and 12 lakhs, will witness iconic formations like Arrowhead, Trishul, and Rudra, as well as thrilling aerobatics by the IAF’s Surya Kiran and Sarang teams.

The two-hour event will culminate with aerial drills and formations such as Sagar, Akash, and Dhwaj. The celebrations will emphasise the IAF’s commitment to national security, self-reliance, and modernisation, showcasing India’s growing air defence capabilities.
