Israel Iran War Live Updates: Dozens killed in Beirut, Gaza as Israel continues airstrikes, UN peacekeepers targeted

After Israel vowed to pay for Iran's missile attack last week, Gulf states are pushing Washington to halt Israel from attacking Iran's oil sites.

Israel Attack Lebanon War News Live: Israel continued its attack on Gaza Strip and Beirut, killing dozens of people on Thursday. At least 27 people, including a child and seven women were killed in the first Israeli strike on a school sheltering the displaced in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian officials were quoted as saying by Reuters. Meanwhile, in Lebanon, at least 22 people were killed and 117 injured in Israeli airstrikes in central Beirut. Two UN peacekeepers were also injured in the attacks

In other news, strikes in the Red Sea continued as a Liberia-flagged tanker was hit twice with missiles and drones. In the attack claimed by Iran-aligned Houthi militants, the tanker – Olympic Spirit, en route from Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah to Muscat in Oman, was struck on its starboard side, about 73 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah.

After Israel vowed to pay for Iran’s missile attack last week, Gulf states are pushing Washington to halt Israel from attacking Iran’s oil sites. The Gulf states including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar are concerned their own oil facilities could come under fire from Tehran’s proxies if the conflict intensifies, three Gulf sources told Reuters. The Gulf states are refusing to let Israel fly over their airspace for any attack on Iran and have conveyed this to Washington, the three sources close to government circles said.
