Delhi News Live Updates: A row erupted during Monday’s meeting after the Delhi Waqf Board Administrator submitted a report to the committee chair. Among those who walked out were AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress member Mohammad Jawed, and Samajwadi Party member Mohibbullah Nadvi. The dispute arose after the Delhi Waqf Board Administrator presented a report to the committee chair without the Delhi government’s consent, which the opposition members deemed as an unauthorized act.

Delhi’s air quality remained under the ‘very poor’ category this morning, with an AQI of 327 as of 9 am. While this was a slight improvement from Sunday’s 352, the city is expected to continue grappling with deteriorating air quality through the week. A further deterioration to the ‘severe’ category is anticipated on Wednesday, in case there are additional emissions from firecrackers and stubble burning.

Water shortage issues: Several parts of South and Central Delhi will continue to face water supply shortage till November 1, as per the Delhi Jal Board (DLB). This due to with maintenance work on the Upper Ganga Canal and high pollution levels in the Yamuna affecting the functioning of two water treatment plants in Bhagirathi and Sonia Vihar. Engineer Rashid surrenders to Tihar Jail after the tenure of his interim bail ends

Delhi: President of Awami Ittehad Party & MP, Sheikh Abdul Rashid alias Engineer Rashid surrenders to Tihar Jail after the tenure of his interim bail ended.

His interim bail was extended till October 28 on the grounds of his father's health. He was earlier granted interim bail till October 2. The case pertains to a terror funding case registered by the National Investigation Agency.

Greater Kailash to Vasant Kunj — Delhi reels under water shortage

Several parts of South and Central Delhi will continue to reel under water shortage till November 1, with maintenance work on the Upper Ganga Canal and high pollution levels in the Yamuna hitting supply and affecting the functioning of two water treatment plants.

The affected areas include prime locations such as Lajpat Nagar, Mayur Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar, Greater Kailash, Vasant Kunj, Kalkaji, Amar Colony, Panchsheel Park, Sarita Vihar, Malviya Nagar, Geetanjali Enclave and several areas under the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

According to the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), the Bhagirathi and Sonia Vihar water treatment plants (WTPs) are functioning only at 30% capacity and have to rely temporarily on the Yamuna. (Also Read)

Man assaults Delhi cop who stopped him for riding bike with illegally modified silencer

A man punched the station house officer of the Jamia Nagar police station after he was stopped for riding a bike with an illegally modified silencer, the Delhi Police has said.

According to the police, on the night of October 26, Inspector Narpal Singh was on patrolling duty with other officers on Batla road when he noticed a bullet motorcycle heading towards Zakir Nagar market. “The bike was making a loud noise and was stopped by the SHO. On inspection, it was found that the silencer was illegally modified, in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. The SHO then ordered the bike to be seized as per law,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Ravi Kumar said. (Also Read)
