DU allows students to pursue two degrees simultaneously at its colleges, departments

The Delhi University has decided to allow students to pursue two degree programmes simultaneously within the university, according to an official notification.

As per the notification, the students can pursue one degree in regular mode from the DU colleges or departments and the other in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode from the School of Open Learning.

Under this new policy, the students already enrolled or in the process of enrolling in a degree programme at the university can opt to pursue two degrees at the same time. However, they will not be allowed to pursue two similar academic programmes at once, such as B.Com (Hons.) and B.Com (Pass), even if one of them is taken in the ODL format.

Those who choose to pursue two degrees simultaneously will need to meet all academic requirements for both programmes separately. This includes attending classes, completing internal assessments, submitting assignments, giving presentations and meeting promotion criteria for each degree.

MCD House to reconvene on Oct 5, poll for standing committee seat not on agenda

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House will reconvene for a meeting on Saturday to address various policy proposals after its last session was suspended over frisking of councillors.

Mayor Shelly Oberoi had adjourned the previous session on September 26, when she also postponed the election for the last vacant seat of MCD's standing committee and ordered it for the next House meeting on October 5.

The agenda for the House meeting on Saturday noted that the MCD has already held the election of the last member of the standing committee on September 27, and has therefore not been included for the meeting.

"However, the matter is sub-judice before the Supreme Court," the agenda issued on Friday said.
