Man hospitalised with serious injuries following Dublin e-scooter crash

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after a man was hospitalised following an e-scooter incident in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services were rushed to the scene of a single-vehicle road incident involving an e-scooter, at Hill Street, Dublin 1, this afternoon, Tuesday 22 October.

The incident occurred at approximately 3.30pm. A man, aged in his 40’s, was conveyed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward, especially any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single-vehicle road incident involving an e-scooter, at Hill Street, Dublin 1, this afternoon, Tuesday 22 October.”

They added: “Any road users or pedestrians who were in the Hill Street, Dublin 1 area, between 2:45pm and 3:45pm this afternoon, Tuesday 22nd October 2024, and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Mountjoy Garda Station on (01) 666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”

The Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations into this incident are ongoing.
