Burna Boy: Speed Darlington released on bail

The development was confirmed by a human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, who raised the initial alarm about the arrest of Darlington.
In a series of posts on his X handle on Tuesday, Adeyanju wrote: “We have just located Speed Darlington and we are working on getting him freed.
“The attack of freedom of expression in Nigeria must stop.
“We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then.
“Petition against him was written by Burna Boy we can confirm.
“Special appreciation to Egbon @YeleSowore, super reliable senior lawyer @stanalieke and to all Nigerians for raising their voice for Speed Darlington.

Adeyanju had earlier revealed that Darlington was arrested in Lagos last week Friday and then transferred to Abuja, where he had been detained.
He said a formal complaint was filed by Burna Boy claiming Darlington defamed and cyber stalked him.
In a video, Darlington asked Burna Boy to explain how he won the Grammy award for his album: “Twice As Tall.”
He also taunted the Grammy Award winner over his affiliation with embattled American rapper, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is facing multiple charges for sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
