First Lady pays condolence visit to Lagbaja’s family

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Wednesday in Abuja paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.

Tinubu was accompanied by Hajia Nana Shettima and Zara Ribadu, wives of the Vice President and National Security Adviser respectively.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports they were received by the wife of the Chief of Defence Staff, Oghogho Musa.

In a condolence message, Senator Tinubu described the late General as a virtuous and courageous man.

She said: “Throughout his career, the late Chief of Army Staff exemplified valour, patriotism and unwavering dedication to the service of our dear country.

“I extend my deepest condolences to his wife, Mrs. Mariya Lagbaja, children, family, friends, colleagues and associates.

“May Almighty God comfort and grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”

The First Lady urged the children to be comforted by the good life their father lived and the legacies he left behind.

NAN reports Lagbaja died at the age of 56 years after a period of illness.
