Harris unleashes on Fox News Bret Baier over Donald Trump

This is the moment an irate Kamala Harris verbally sparred with a Fox News host over his Donald Trump claims.

Democrat presidential hopeful Harris spoke to Fox News' Bret Baier last night in her first ever interview with the network, less than three weeks before the 2024 election on November 5.

Baier, a long-time Fox anchor, asked Harris: 'If he's as bad as you say, that half of the country is supporting this person who could be the 47th president of the United States, why is that happening?'

Harris retorted: 'This is an election for president of the United States. It's not supposed to be easy. It is not supposed to be a a cakewalk.'

When asked whether the 'other 50%' were 'stupid', she said: 'Oh God, I would never say that about the American people. And in fact if you listen to Donald Trump, if you listen to any of his rallies, he's the one who tends to demean and belittle and diminish the American people.

'He's the one who talks about an enemy within, talking about the American people, suggesting he would turn the American military on the American people. He has repeated many times, and you and I both know that.

The moment Kamala Harris staff desperately intervened to end interview with Fox News' Bret Baier

'He has talked about going after people who are engaged in peaceful protest. he has talked about locking people up because they disagree with him.

'This is a democracy, and in a democracy the president of the United States of America should be willing to be able to handle criticism without saying he'd lock people up for doing it.

'This is what is at stake, which is why you have someone like the former chair of the Join Chiefs of Staff saying... Donald Trump being a threat to the United States of America.'

Harris was referring to revelations made by legendary journalist Bob Woodward in his new book, where he reported that Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, referred to Trump as a 'fascist to the core' and was the most dangerous person to this country' in the wake of the January 6 insurrection.

Harris fought bitterly with Baier during the interview

Fox News' Bret Baier kicked off the high stakes interview with the vice president by asking her about the Biden administration immigration policy. Harris dodged answering several questions while defending the administration and slamming Donald Trump for killing the border deal
Anchor Bret Baier, host of Special Report, repeatedly pressed Harris for specifics on immigration. He asked her about regrets ending Trump border policies and whether the families of those killed by immigrants in the country illegally are owed an apology. Harris said she feels 'awful' for what one mother had gone through after he played a clip of a parent

'He is the most dangerous person ever. I had suspicions when I talked to you about his mental decline and so forth, but now I realize he’s a total fascist. He is now the most dangerous person to this country. A fascist to the core', Milley said.

Though Harris had some thundering moments during her Fox interview, it began with her and Baier clashing almost immediately

Baier started out by asking Harris how many illegal immigrants she estimates have been released into the country during the Biden administration, but their heated interview quickly escalated.

‘Well, I’m glad you raised the issue of immigration because I agree with you, it is a topic of discussion that people want to rightly have,’ Harris said.

When Baier interrupted her to press about a specific number, their exchange got testy.

‘Bret, let’s just get to the point, okay? The point is that we have a broken immigration system that needs to be repaired,’ Harris said.

Baier cut in that the Biden Homeland Security Secretary said six million people have been released into the country.

Fox News host Bret Baier recalled with his panel how four people were waving their hands for the interview to end after his exclusive interview with Vice President Kamala Harris aired Wednesday. It was Harris first sit-down with the conservative network

‘I’m not finished. I’m not finished,’ Harris said as they began to speak over each other.

Baier promised he was just getting to the full question as the vice president retorted she was just beginning to answer.

Baier later revealed that her campaign staff tried to end the interview early.

'I'm talking like four people waving their hands like "it's got to stop,"' Baier described to his panel about how the interview ended after it wrapped up.

'I had to dismount there at the end,' Baier shrugged.

'There are so many things and maybe she should do more of these,' he added.

At the very end of the interview on camera, Baier seated across from her, had to cut the vice president off once again stating 'Madam Vice President, they're giving me a hard wrap.'

'Well I thank you for the time,' Harris promptly said ending it on a cordial sounding note.

Harris did the interview after a campaign event in Washington Crossing, PA before heading to Wisconsin Wednesday evening.

It was part of a busy campaign week for the vice president as she makes a series of stops in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin before she also heads to Georgia this weekend.
