According to Motors, the average price of a used car was £17,168, which was a 1.3% drop from the previous month. This was also significantly lower than the same period in 2023, when the average price was £18,511.

It means drivers not parking correctly risk losing that sum. She explained: "Some drivers enjoy the process of modifying their vehicle, however you should be clued up on how this can impact value when you come to sell your car later down the road. Changes such as customised paint jobs, aftermarket body kits and lowered suspension should all be avoided where possible if you’re hoping to retain as much value as possible."
