- A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a fellow inmate at Cloverhill Prison in the early hours of this morning.
- Tributes have been paid to Roscommon Fine Gael councillor John Naughten following his death yesterday.
- Three rain warnings remain in place today for counties in the southwest as Met Éireann has said heavy and persistent rain is expected for the entire day.
- Sinn Féin’s former HR manager knew of the controversial references for former press officer Michael McMonagle in August 2023, Michelle O’Neill said.
- President Michael D. Higgins has said it is “outrageous that the Israeli Defence Forces have threatened” peacekeepers in Lebanon.

#SCOTLAND: The Scottish National Party has pointed to the recent Budget as an example of the “opportunities” that an independent Scotland could enjoy.

PARTING SHOT
LIVERPOOL EXTENDED THEIR lead at the top of the Premier League to four points thanks to Diogo Jota’s winner in a 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Arne Slot has now won nine of his first 10 games since succeeding Jurgen Klopp, but will be frustrated that the visitors invited a late onslaught from the winless Eagles.
