After a 'MeToo' movement surfaced recently, Malayalam actor Siddique resigned from his position as general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), along with the entire 17-member executive committee.

An FIR was filed against Siddique in connection with the sexual assault allegations by an actress in August this year. The case was registered by the Trivandrum Museum Police under the non-bailable offence of rape based on the complaint.

Mukesh's arrest was recorded after the SIT, who is investigating the case registered against the actor, called him for questioning. The actor-politician appeared before the SIT at the Coastal Police Headquarters in Kochi in morning and was grilled for over three hours.
