Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ what Billy is hiding from Dawn - and who is involved

by · Metro

Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) appears to be hiding a secret from Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) in Emmerdale – and it’s absolutely the last thing he needs to be doing after everything they’ve been through.

Earlier this year, Billy and Dawn’s young son Evan was diagnosed with leukaemia. The stressed parents were then given the arduous task of juggling life at Home Farm with their other children Clemmie and Lucas, and ensuring they were at the hospital enough to support Evan.

On top of this, Dawn recently discovered dad Will (Dean Andrews) and Kim (Claire King) dumped mum Rose (Christine Tremarco) by the road and ordered her to leave the Dales and never return.

When PC Swirling (Andy Moore) turned up with Rose’s possessions but reporting no sign of Rose, it seemed that something nasty had happened to her after Kim and Will left the scene.

They automatically went into defensive mode – with neither of them entirely believing the other was innocent, their instinct was to protect each other from any consequences by lying.

In a series of flashbacks in an episode that aired in August, it was confirmed that Dawn (Olivia Bromley) had known all along what happened to her mother and knew that Will was covering, either because he was guilty or he thought Kim was guilty.

This development led to Dawn moving her family out of Home Farm, which destroyed her relationship with Will in the process.

Currently, Dawn, Billy and the children are living at Holdgate, the former home of the Sharmas.

With Dawn currently not working as a result of looking after Evan, and Billy trying to earn more money through his PT business, paying the bills is a struggle.

Yesterday, as Billy headed out to meet a client, Dawn was seen snooping through his bag. She then came across a large wad of cash, which left her very suspicious indeed.

Fortunately, Dawn didn’t hesitate in confronting Billy, who claimed he had been saving up so they could go on holiday.

While Dawn believed Billy, many Emmerdale fans didn’t. Taking to social media platform X, plenty of people now believe Billy is working as a drug runner.

‘Billy a drug runner? This is gonna back fire and they will lose those children’, one fan feared.

Amid the theories, some are wondering if Billy’s new cash earner is somehow connected to the returning Ross Barton (Michael Parr).

Mike Parr is reprising his role as Ross after six years. As it stands, we don’t know why the much-loved character is returning to the Dales, but could it be because of Billy?

Discussing his return, the star said: ‘I’m over the moon to be returning to Emmerdale. Ross is a character I’m extremely fond of and I’m excited to explore what he’s been up to over the past five years. After seeing the scripts, I can’t wait for the audience to see what’s in store. One thing I can say is Ross’s return will no doubt create fireworks.’

Producer, Laura Shaw, added:

‘We are delighted to have Michael back at Team Emmerdale, playing the unforgettable and charismatic bad boy Ross Barton once again. Ross makes a huge impact from the first moment he arrives back on screen, immediately throwing some of our villagers’ lives into disarray.

‘Chaotic, wild and reckless, Ross is absolutely going to shake up the village and prove it’s never quiet with a Barton boy back in town.’
