Emmerdale fans discover Beth Cordingly's forgotten role in 'raunchy' 00s series

Emmerdale fans have discovered a previous role played by Beth Cordingly, and it is totally different to Ruby Fox-Miligan.

Before joining the ITV soap, Beth had an impressive CV behind her, including episodes of Doctors and EastEnders.

However, it is her role in ITV’s Secret Diary Of A Call Girl that has caught fans attention, since it was added to Netflix UK in recent June.

The show, which starred Billie Piper as Hannah Baxter, a young woman who lived a secret life as a call girl under the pseudonym of Belle, ran for four series, with Beth appearing in one episode in 2007 as a fellow call girl called Naomi.

After realising that Emmerdale’s Ruby had popped up in the series, one Emmerdale fan took to Facebook to say: ‘Just discovered Ruby is in episode 5 of Netflix Secret Diary of a Call Girl starring Billie Piper raunchy lol.’

Another was quick to respond, writing: ‘I thought it was her! Can’t watch her on Emmerdale the same way…’

Actress Beth joined Emmerdale earlier this year as the troublemaking Ruby, and fans instantly took to the character.

Since her arrival, she has caused chaos by exposing Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) affair with Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh), started an on-going feud with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and almost lost her life in a barn fire.

She’s also tried and so far failed to bring down Kim Tate (Claire King) – a feat that even the most experienced villain would struggle to achieve.

Speaking to Metro earlier this year, Beth revealed how much she is enjoying playing the role and the reaction from fans.

‘It’s brilliant. It’s such a fantastic show to work on. I’m absolutely having a ball. She’s a nuts character but she’s really fun to play!’
