Pumpkins Take Over Amarillo at Upcoming Pumpkin Fest

· NewsTalk 1290

It seems pumpkins take over Amarillo after a certain point of the year. Oh, and that time gets earlier and earlier every year. We have pumpkin-spiced lattes. We have Pumpkin Blizzards. Let's be honest everything turns pumpkin.

Even Quick Quack Car Wash got involved with a pumpkin scent to fill your car when you get your car washed. Yep, pumpkins are the thing in Amarillo and really all over. So we need a day to celebrate the pumpkin and that is coming up.

The family can head out to The Amarillo Botanical Gardens for Pumpkin Fest. A fun-filled day for the whole family. The day starts at nine in the morning and lasts until three in the afternoon.

There will be plenty of activities for everyone. There will be plenty of opportunities to get nice family photos as you are walking through the gardens. Snap some photos with the kiddos and the pumpkins. Those can flood your social media pages.

There will be time to play carnival games and win some fun prizes. There will be the opportunity to create some nice arts and crafts projects. The family can also take home a pumpkin that they painted. Just a lot of fun for everyone.

There is a lot to take part in according to The Amarillo Botanical Gardens:

This outdoor event is a fall favorite in the panhandle, and we are excited to bring it back for its 13th year! Join us October 5th from 9am-3pm for 20+ carnival games, face painting, educational experiences, pumpkin painting, petting zoo, food trucks, fall treats and MORE! Take a stroll through our gourd tunnel, check out the largest display of pumpkins in Amarillo, or stop by our vendor booths and pick up some one-of-a-kind goodies and snacks.

The Amarillo Botanical Gardens should definitely be on your calendar this weekend. Admission is $12 general admission - $10 for members - $6 for children aged five and under.
