Praise be to the Emperor, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment have confirmed that plans for either DLC or a full sequel for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 are already being proposed.

Speaking to IGN, Saber CCO Tim Willits said the game's surprise success had "changed everything" for the developer. While the creative officer wouldn't get into the gritty numbers (we know Space Marine 2 had two million players at launch), he said it was the fastest-selling game he's ever worked on. Willits was the director of id Software until 2019, which means Space Marine 2 outpaced any of the DOOM, Wolfenstein, Rage or Quake games released under his tenure.

Further, Willits, again without getting into specifics, claims that Space Marine 2's budget was less than half that of DOOM Eternal, the last game he oversaw at id. While we couldn't verify that game's budget, it did make around $450m in profit in its first nine months on the market, so we imagine Space Marine 2 is bringing in a healthy chunk of change. Practically, this will allow Saber to "dream bigger", and Willits says that Space Marine 2's content roadmap will require "adjustments" due to the game's unexpected success, so please be excited about that.

Its just fun, plain and simple. Without pushing any agenda or trying to be more than it needs to be.
Ive been running the same 6 operations since launch and ive been having a blast.

Super happy that the game did well!

Can i play the PvE missions (not the campaign) on my own? I don't have anyone to play with me and if I'm getting this game, i want to do everything it has to offer because damn, this one is very expensive here in Brazil. 350 reais is a lot here and i don't plan on subscribe to PS Plus, but if the game is fun and can be played mostly solo, then I'll definitely think about getting it in the future

You love to see it.

This is good news!! Curren replaying the first one before I move on to this one.

Happy about this! Still waiting for my physical copy in the mail.

Hoping one of the DLCs is a meaty SP outing, WH4K is ripe with amazing opportunities for storytelling and set pieces.

Unpopular oppinion incoming. I just could not get in to it what so ever. Sold it to a buddy after a few days.

Great news!

This, Unicorn Overlord sold 1 mill copies, Astro Bot, Black Myth Wukong, and Stellar Blade succes feels like a sign that more devs understand what they need to do is to make a fun and polished game without DEI bulls* 🤝

@Kidfunkadelic83 I feel you. I'm still trying to get through it, but dayum it's clunky, slow and a lot of door opening and bad jet packs. And the AI is horrible and every level so far very samey. It's not bad, but far (very far)from some of the best shooters I've played including both Doom and Wolfenstein games for example.
