Sonos unveils the powerful Arc Ultra soundbar

Despite the drama involving its app, Sonos is a household name in household audio. The company’s soundbars are some of the best that you can find on the market. Its Arc series of bars has the company’s best devices and it just launched its latest flagship. Sonos finally unveiled the new Arc Ultra.

Sonos is a company that exists in that area between the consumer and luxury market of devices. Its devices are pricey, but they’re not outside of what most average Joes can afford. On the low end, they’ll typically run you between $240 and $600 with the prices rising to north of $1,000. The new Arc Ultra sits pretty high up there with a price tag of $999. It sits above the standard Sonos Arc and brings some notable improvements.

With this new speaker comes a new technology that Sonos calls Sound Motion. Thanks to its acquisition of Mayht, it was able to implement this technology into its speakers. Basically, this technology allows speakers to be smaller but still produce a powerful sound. “A significant breakthrough in audio engineering, Sound Motion drastically reduces the size of the transducer while supercharging the bass, opening a new chapter in sound innovation where bigger, better sound can be delivered from smaller products,” the company said.

Adding to the audio quality, this speaker is a 9.1.4 system. This will give you an immersive sound when you’re watching content. The Sonos Arc Ultra has a whopping 14 drivers pushing the audio. There are six midwoofers, seven tweeters, and the special Sound Motion subwoofer. This will give you an incredibly balanced sound.

This is a great speaker to own if you want to have a movie night with the family. However, what if you want to have a private movie-watching session? Well, if you own a pair of Sonos Arc headphones, then you’ll be able to stream the audio right from your Arc Ultra to your headphones. This is an easy solution if you want to watch TV without interrupting others.

Other features include Speech Enhancement, Bluetooth, and Trueplay EQ tuning. The Arc Ultra is available to pre-order starting today. They’ll start shipping around October 29th.
