Tommy Fury sidestepped discussions about cheating rumours during his stint on Thursday's edition of This Morning.

The ex-Love Island contestant, 25, appeared on the daytime programme to chat about his new autobiography, Lighting Can Strike Twice: My Life as a Fury, but faced questioning regarding his recent parting with Molly-Mae Hague.

This Morning's presenter Ben Shephard probed: "It's been a turbulent few months for you, Tommy, how are you feeling after everything you've been through over the summer?"

To which Tommy offered: "Yeah I'm feeling okay, I'm feeling good, you know obviously it doesn't take a genius to figure out it's been very tough for me, it's been a very hard time, but at the end of the day I've just been knuckling down my training, taking my daughter to ballet, swimming and whatever else. Just been keeping myself busy and of course the book!"

Ben, 49, delved further, commenting: "You've been very honest in the book and you've been honest about this that your relationship with Molly-Mae has been very public, it's been built around social media, the brand is you on social media, so of course anything that goes wrong is going to be played out on social media as well", reports Wales Online.

He continued: "How have you dealt with that criticism as there were a lot of critics when Molly-Mae put a statement out about the relationship and the fact it had ended, [fans] immediately jumped to the conclusion that you had done something wrong."

Tommy remarked: "Yeah, no, of course. There's been a lot of critics out there, there will be critics out there till the day I die, everyone will point their finger when there's a bandwagon to jump on but at the end of the day out of respect to Molly, out of respect to myself and our relationship and to us, I'm going to let us deal with that in private as much as we can", and he added: "I want to leave all that stuff to me and Molly."

Host Ben then highlighted: "You did add an extra chapter didn't you, there's one accusation you have addressed which is this accusation that in someway you cheated on Molly."

To which Tommy responded: "Yeah, like I say, I'm going to leave all that stuff for me and Molly to work through because at the end of the day a lot of stuff has been put out there, the whole world has seen what we've been going through for the past month or two months."

Yet Ben persisted in his questioning and noted: "In the book you categorically deny it?" to which Tommy answered: "Yeah, I added a last chapter in there and what I did is talked about all my feelings leading up and how I felt during this time.

"It's all in the book, as I say, I felt freely in the book to speak so that's why I added the last chapter in to keep everybody up to date. In there I've spoke about my feelings the last two months and it has been tough! You can read about it all in there!"

Before adding: "Me and Molly and Bambi are a family unit and we're going to tackle this in private." When questioned about a potential reunion with Molly, Tommy responded: "Like I said, they are my family and I'll love them till the day I die."

It comes as Tommy has revealed the real reason he split with Molly-Mae – and has insisted he never cheated. The 25-year-old boxer says social media influencer Molly, also 25, is still his "dream girl" and has vowed to "love her until my final breath".

The couple met on Love Island in 2019 and though they didn’t win the show – coming runners up instead - are the most successful pairing the ITV show has ever seen.

In January 2023 they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Bambi, and got engaged on top of a clip in Ibiza – with Bambi being part of the romantic proposal. However, back in August, Molly-Mae announced the shock news that her and Tommy had split.

At the time it was reported it was because Tommy had cheated – but he has denied this is the case and wants to put the record straight ahead of his autobiography – which references the split – coming out.

While Molly-Mae hasn’t revealed why their relationship ended, she said on Instagram that she will be "forever grateful" for their daughter. Sharing the shock news with fans at the time, she said: "Never in a million years did I ever think I'd have to write this. After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end.

"I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority. I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years.

"You have all been part of our journey and I feel it's right to share this with you all. Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time, I'll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae x."

This Morning continues on weekdays at 10am on both ITV and ITV X.
