A BBC Strictly Come Dancing star could STILL be forced to leave the show after this weekend - despite bosses saying he could return. Nick Knowles, who was given the green light and go-ahead to return to the programme following an arm injury, could be voted off.

Since the dance show began in 2004, 38% of the stars eliminated first have been presenters - making it the most common job before actors. Nick and Luba Mushtuk will take to the dancefloor on Saturday night after days of speculation that he would be forced to withdraw.

Nick injured his arm while changing a tyre on the motorway. But after being spotted in a sling, BBC DIY SOS star Nick has now been given the go-ahead to return by Strictly Come Dancing doctors and medical stuff, after days of uncertainty.

Nick told the cameras: "Luba has been extraordinary. From the moment she knew I was injured she has been looking at alternative ways. She must have rebuilt this dance ten times." Luba added: "He is looking incredibly well in hold. He has potential in ballroom!"

The duo are set to perform an American Smooth to Blur's Parklife on Saturday. Meanwhile a source told The Sun: “Nick is elated that he is being given another chance at getting back on the dancefloor and is focused on his recovery. Nick is in the best hands and will be focussed on getting better before going back into rehearsals. He has absolutely loved the Strictly experience so far so knowing he is still part of the show makes him feel incredibly happy.”

During last weekend's launch show, Nick and Luba drew a low score of 15 from the judges after they danced a Jive to the sound of Starship's song We Built This City. Earlier this month, Nick explained why he wanted to take part in the hit dance show. He said: “I’m so old, if I left it any longer I wouldn’t be able to. I think this is my last chance physically to be able to do it, so that was a good reason.

“But because we did a Strictly and DIY SOS collaboration last year, built a place, an all-ability drama dance school up in the North East, I then begged [show judge] Anton [Du Beke] to get me on the show.”
