BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice issues new update over possible return to show

Giovanni Pernice has issued a NEW update over his potential return to BBC Strictly Come Dancing in the wake of an investigation into his conduct towards Amanda Abbington. The BBC pro dancer left the show in a row this summer, having been accused of bullying.

Amid reports Giovanni could return to the show, Gio has sent tongues wagging with a cryptic post. The star shared a Instagram Story featuring his best moments from Halloween Week in the past few years, during his tenure as a show pro.

The caption read: "Forever the King of Halloween." It comes a fortnight on from Giovanni, 34, appearing on ITV Lorraine to speak to Christine Lampard after it was revealed the BBC probe upheld six of the 17 complaints made by Amanda Abbington.

While speaking to Christine, Gio denied ever clashing with Amanda, 50, in the training room and confessed he'd like to have a cup of tea with her to iron out their issues. He said: "I’m upset because we could have made it all the way to the final. My job is to take everything out of my partner. It’s in the public domain, the fact I’m a strict teacher. If you want to achieve greatness, I think this is the right way to do.

"The investigation didn’t find me a bully. Bully is a big word, there’s a big difference between bullying and caring about what you do. All I had was 'Giovanni you’re an amazing teacher, Giovanni you’re great'.

"At that time everything was perfect, me and Amanda Abbington never had an argument." Amanda has since hit back, branding Giovanni "delusional", with her team telling the Sun newspaper: "Mr Pernice’s claim that 'everything in the rehearsal room worked perfectly' is false and delusional, and underlines the toxic culture Ms Abbington endured on Strictly Come Dancing."
