A Marks & Spencer's top that "could pass for posh" was branded "perfection" by one impressed shopper, who said it was "better" than a similar one she'd purchased from "a very expensive shop". Another fan said they'd be living in the "cosy" Cotton Blend Striped Rugby Top "all autumn/winter".

According to M&S, the Cotton Blend Striped Rugby Top was "perfect for cooler days" and "selling fast". The retailer said it was "comfy and stylish" with a collared neck and button fastening, ribbed trims and a "cosy" textured finish.

The Cotton Blend Striped Rugby Top comes in two colours - grey mix or brown mix. Sizes six to 24 were available and it is priced at £27.50.

A five-star review for the Cotton Blend Striped Rugby Top read: "Love this top. Bought it in brown. I'm a size 10 and went with a 10. It is a perfect relaxed fit. The material is lovely and soft. It's a great cosy jumper that I will live in all autumn/winter." Another wrote: "Ordered online as the one I wanted was out of stock. However, this is perfect, lovely colour and such soft comfortable material. Looks far more expensive, definitely recommend."

The Cotton Blend Striped Rugby Top was "perfection" according to a third five-star review, which read: "I love this more than I can say. Got the black/beige one. It could pass for posh: in fact I have a similar rugby top in a wool mix from a very expensive shop, and this one is better. It's oversized, in a good way - I sized up for slouch but should have stuck to my normal size. Also - it's so soft, and the sleeves look good folded back. Off to get the grey one now..."

Leaving four stars for the Cotton Blend Striped Rugby Top, another reviewer said: "Lovely fabric, very soft and snuggly. I don’t like sweatshirts with a ribbed bottom so this pull on with button front fits my style. I would have given this a 5* but it does come up a little shorter than I would like, but is still great with jeans. The stretchy fabric at the neckline is very comfortable to wear and is just the right fabric weight to be easy to wear and comfortable, not too hot."
