Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland has addressed the recent controversy sparked by Toyah Willcox's remarks about him being ousted from the show.

On Monday evening, Willcox and her dance partner Neil Jones appeared on It Takes Two with host Fleur East to share their feelings about their exit from the competition.

She chuckled at a joke, leaving Jones and East to join in the awkward laughter before she added: "You are all going to have to face a dance-off.Jones quickly intervened to soften the comment, saying: "I think she has chosen her winner already.

"The next day, McCausland responded to the remark and defended Willcox by posting on his X account: "All I can say is that @toyahofficial has been nothing but beautiful and supportive and what she said on Takes Two was funny and an incredible bl***y compliment.

"It's been such a joy and a privilege Toyah. Lots of love, enjoy the surfing!"

However, the comment was revisited during McCausland and his dance partner Dianne Buswell's appearance on It Takes Two last night. Presenter Janette Manrara asked: "Chris, we'll talk about your brilliant jive in just a minute - but I just want to clear up some confusion.

"On Monday's show, Toyah [Willcox] said you were the one to beat, but some people misunderstood what she said. I just want to check you and Toyah are all good?

McCausland confessed: "We are all good. I had to be told about it because I didn't watch it. The last thing I want is more Strictly.

"I can't believe I've got to comment on it, to be honest. She's been nothing but lovely. She genuinely said to me when she went out and we all cuddled on the dance floor 'You're going to win this'.

"So, she's lovely, her intention is gorgeous. She's insane for thinking that let's not let her off for that. But it's madness, isn't it? I mean tomorrow the headline will be, 'Chris McCausland thinks Toyah Willcox is insane'."

In his recent stint on the show, McCausland together with partner Diane Buswell lit up the stage with the Jive set to the Wayne's World Theme, bagging a commendable 30 out of a possible 40 points.

This weekend promises more as the duo is set to serve up a sizzling Salsa to the tune of Down Under by Men at Work.
