The future of Nick Knowles on Strictly Come Dancing remains uncertain as there has been scant evidence of him returning to rehearsals.

After an on-set mishap last week which saw fellow BBC show DIY SOS presenter drop out of the show due to injurysustained during a poorly executed jump in dress rehearsal and requiring crutchesit's now become the second incident after previously injuring his shoulder while changing a car tyre.

Nick reassured his followers earlier on Wednesday, sharing that he had been given the green light by medics to get back to practices saying: "I am behind the scenes at It Takes Two and the good news is that the physios have cleared me to train tomorrow. That's not an all clear for Saturday yet, so I have to see how I can get on tomorrow and then a decision will be made on Friday."

His fans are clearly eager to see his return, with supportive messages flooding in. One fan voiced their support: "We're rooting for you Nick."

Another said: "I hope to see you back on the dance floor on Saturday Nick." Someone else encouraged: "You've still got this Nick, you can do this."

However, with the live show just a day away and no fresh updates on his condition, Nick's participation hangs in the balance.

Nick, a contestant on the Strictly spin-off show, IT Takes Two, spoke to Janette Manrara and his professional partner Luba Mushtak on Wednesday night. He revealed that the show's bosses are closely monitoring his injuries, hoping he can continue in the competition.

Earlier this week, he mentioned feeling stronger each day as the pain begins to fade. "Each day gets a little bit better. On Friday, it looked pretty bad to be honest. Saturday was not so good but I got a scan and so we decided to wait until Monday so we could have a look at that.

"Monday was a little bit stronger and today I got to see the physio's and I've had help from all the rehab and physio's and doctors and they have given me clearance to try and dance tomorrow to train. If I train tomorrow then it might not necessarily be the end of it."

This isn't the first time Nick has been hampered by injury while participating in the show. The TV star admitted today that he's grown "sick and tired" of these unfortunate setbacks.

Nick was compelled to withdraw from the competition last week and was given a pass to the next round due to his knee injury. He sustained the injury after taking a tumble during a dress rehearsal jump, which left him reliant on crutches.

This marks Nick's second injury on Strictly, having previously hurt his shoulder and arm while changing a car tyre.
