Strictly's Pete Wicks says 'poor Jowita' as he faces 'hardest' week on BBC show

Pete Wicks appears to be sympathising with his dance partner Jowita Przystal as they dive into rehearsals for their next performance on Strictly Come Dancing.

The ex-TOWIE celeb is set for a comeback in the iconic dance floor as Strictly resumes on BBC One this Saturday evening, October 12, after he and Jowita advanced to the fourth week following their Movie Week showings.

In a surprising twist during Movie Week, Pete donned an animal-print loincloth and went barefoot to perform a samba with Jowita to the tune of George Of The Jungle, pocketing a score of 26 out of 40.

However, the couple nearly faced calamity when an elaborate step nearly caused Pete to accidently send Jowita flying, although he successfully managed to keep her on her feet.

Shaking off the George of the Jungle antics, they are now gearing up for their forthcoming routine, which will be a Quickstep to Town Called Malice by The Jam, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Heading into practice on Wednesday, October 9, Pete engaged with fans on Instagram during a QandA while stuck in traffic. One of the opening questions for the podcast host was: "Are you proud of what you have done on Strictly so far?? You should be!! Loving it."

Pete shared a snap of himself and Jowita dazzling on the dancefloor, dressed as George and Ursula, and expressed his dedication: "I'm trying my best, I am loving learning something new and hope I am blessed enough to keep going but that's down to you guys! " He also praised his partner, saying: "Also, @jowitaprzystal is the best teacher!"

When asked by a fan if he was excelling in training this week, Pete openly confessed: "This is the hardest week for me so far but I'm 100% in and need to stop getting in my head about it."

The star humorously added: "Poor @jowitaprzystal has dealt with a range of moods this week!"

Previously, Pete had revealed his concerns about his position in the competition after Movie Week. Speaking on Strictly's companion show It Takes Two, he compared his and Jowita's performance to other contestants, acknowledging their lower rankings.

Fleur East, the host, pointed out their scores, which led Pete to admit: "When you're at the bottom it obviously doesn't look great. But you never know what the public are going to do."

He went on to talk about the show's inherent uncertainty, stating: "And I think regardless of what the judges' scores are, you never know what the public are thinking. And I think everyone, regardless of where you are in the competition, is nervous about leaving. And certainly I was, I didn't necessarily think I'd make it through last week, I'll be honest with you."
