Now better-known for The Great British Bake Off, she spilled the beans on the nugget of wisdom Aljaz Skorjanec imparted to her during her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
In the latest instalment of Bake Off aired on Tuesday (October 8), the ten bakers that remain were put through their paces as they strived to wow judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their prowess in bread-making.
Emotions ran high, though, when John was brought to tears upon realising his bagels were not proving as expected, prompting him to retreat from the tent to gather himself.

Confiding to Alison, he lamented, "I make bagels all the time and they never sink ever," adding, "I'm not having a good day, my bagels aren't rising. I make bagels all the time."
Amidst comforting John, Alison reminisced about a comical piece of advice her ex-dance partner Aljaz gave her when they faced elimination on Strictly back in 2014.
Sharing the memory, Alison said, "When I did Strictly, it was a dance-off and I knew I was going. But Aljaz looked at me and he went, 'She can still fall over'," She continued, telling John, "So I'm looking at you now going, 'Someone could still burn it'. Go and hold your head up high and enjoy yourself, have a laugh because someone could still fall over! ".
Despite Alison's inspiring words, it wasn't enough to save John, who had to hang up his apron after the Showstopper challenge.
Following his departure from the competition, John touched hearts with an emotional farewell note posted on social media which read, "What a journey it has been," and expressed his amazement at making it onto the show he had adored for 14 years.
The baker characterised his stint in the tent as "an honour and the most amazing experience of [his] life", urging fans to pursue their dreams. He added: "Stay strong and believe in yourself, because I am proof that dreams can come true."
