The creators of the much-loved BBC show Death In Paradise have announced an exciting new venture set to launch next month.

Teaming up with BBC Books, they're introducing Death In Paradise: The Puzzle Book, a collection of 150 unique puzzles that transport fans to the sunny shores of Saint Marie. On this picturesque island, enthusiasts will be challenged to solve some of the most notorious murders, just like their favourite characters from the show.

The book will also feature appearances from several fan-favourite characters. Will you be able to assist Ralf Little's DI Neville Parker in solving a crime, or perhaps you fancy braving the summer heat like DI Richard Poole, portrayed by Ben Miller?

Ardal O'Hanlon's DI Jack Mooney could use your help in cracking a case, and DI Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall, is likely to need some assistance too!

Other beloved characters may also make an appearance, including DS Naomi Thomas, Camille Bordey, Florence Cassell, and of course, the Commissioner of Saint Marie, Selwyn Patterson, reports Wales Online.

Set to hit the shelves on November 7th 2024, the book will retail at £14.99. It promises familiar faces, cunning clues, and engaging brain-teasers to immerse you in the world of Saint Marie before the BBC drama makes its return in the New Year.

Don Gilet is set to step into the spotlight as DI Mervin Wilson in the beloved series, following Ralf Little's departure. Gilet expressed his excitement, sharing: "Being offered the new lead role in Death in Paradise feels like a deeply loved and incredibly precious jewel has been placed in my hands. This is a big show, with a big heart and the love continually grows for it.

"It is my intention to never lose sight of that and to remain grateful, humbled and dedicated. Even during those testing times when every sinew is screaming at me to run off the set and dive into the sea, swimming pool or an ice-cold beer whichever happens to be closer at the time!"

Tim Key, Executive Producer for Red Planet Pictures, added: "Don is an amazing actor and we're delighted that he's joining us as the show enters another exciting new era. We've got huge plans for the new series and beyond, and I can't wait for the audience to meet Mervin and to see what we've got in store."
