Nick Knowles has shared a fresh health update after a horror injury threatened to end his stint in BBC Strictly Come Dancing. Nick, the BBC DIY SOS star, was left in a sling having injured his arm while changing a tyre on a motorway.

But he has now been given the green-light to return to the BBC show by doctors. Nick, 62, shared a video from the back of a taxi on Saturday as he headed to the studio in London where he will compete alongside pro partner Luba Mushtuk.

"On my way to the studios, this is show day. I've had the two days to learn the dance as well as I possibly can," the TV favourite today (Saturday September 28) told fans. "I promise to give it everything tonight and try and perform it well. Luba has worked her magic in choreographing something amazing.

"All I have to do now is perform it." He said: "It's been a tough week but I'm very excited to dance later this evening and don't worry about me, shoulder getting stronger every single day. Thank you for all your wishes of support and all the love that's been sent.

"And remember, I'm in the bottom four because of last week. If I don't dance well tonight I could be in trouble so please vote to keep me and Luba in the competition!" The former I'm A Celebrity star said: "Luba has been extraordinary.

"From the moment she knew I was injured she has been looking at alternative ways. She must have rebuilt this dance ten times." Luba added: "He is looking incredibly well in hold. He has potential in ballroom!"

Last year, Luba was paired up with ITV Emmerdale and BBC Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas, the brother of Coronation Street favourite Ryan.
