Body language expert says Katya Jones is 'skilled masker' as she decodes apology with Wynne

Katya and Wynne insisted they were just 'messing around' after fans appeared to spot tense moments between the pair during the live show

Strictly Come Dancing fans were stunned when they appeared to spot tension between Wynne Evans and Katya Jones during the live show as she appeared to push his hand away from her waist. The pair rushed to explain an 'awkward' moment spotted during the live show on Saturday night.

They insisted it was a 'silly inside joke'. Speaking on social media, Katya clarified: "Hello everybody it's Wynne and Katya here. We just wanted to say we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night and just want to say sorry. It was a silly joke."

Wynne chimed in with a simple: "Yes sorry." Now the incident has been decoded by a body language expert, who also examined their spology video.

Judi James said Katya seemed to be sporting "clenched teeth" during the sequence. She told the Mirror: "As Katya nods and smiles at Claudia, Wynne places a hand on her shoulder while his other inches round her waist. If you were being generous, you might suggest she didn't realise it was him, or that she'd previously spotted him scoffing some green room chocs and didn't want marks on her white dress.

"The apology they've made via video seems to exacerbate the situation rather than ameliorating it, given why apologize to viewers with such contrite faces? Signals indicative of jesting, good fun, or an easy-going, tight-knit companionship are absent from this clip too there's no eye-to-eye connection or joint laughter. His grin appears strained and Katya concludes what looks to be with teeth clenched."

She added: "Katya is [Strictly's] most skilled masker. When she's been under pressure in past seasons, her already famous smile has widened and her energy levels have increased - rather than dimmed.

"Bravado and a will to win are her forte. Which is what makes these moments that are very obviously on camera so compelling and odd."
